RES Contractors, LLC (RES), was originally founded under the name of Reeves Electrical Services in April, 2002 by Mr. Michael R. Tipton. Mr. Tipton had been employed in the industrial construction/services sector for 16 years as an electrician, systems instrumentation design/tech, estimator, planner, mechanical tech, and construction manager.

Originally, the company performed electrical services in the commercial market but eventually added Public work services to its portfolio. Due to Mr. Tipton’s Native American heritage, his company became certified with the LADOTD as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). In early 2004, the company added Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction services to its capabilities by attaining its LA State license.

By late December 2004, the company had become certified with the Small Business Administrationas an 8(a)/HubZone business that is beneficial in acquiring certain Federal contracts that are specifically set aside for minority owned contractors. At this time, RES Contractors, LLC, was registered as a dba name for Reeves Electrical Services as the company portfolio began to acquire more capabilities besides its electrical services expertise.


As of today, RES has been successful in providing services outlined in our President’s Message page by securing strategic alliances and partnerships with small and large companies that share our philosophy of excellence and quality performance.

RES prides itself on providing clients with complete and accurate budgeting, design/build services, the overseeing of conceptual design, space planning, material selection and constructability, as well as coordination and management of all phases of a project whether structural, electrical or mechanical. Our key personnel have over 100 years of combined experience and service in the fields of service we offer, which contributes to the company's success and to our reputation in the community.

RES is a national and regional member of the US Green Building Council which promotes sustainable construction and energy conservation. RES has adopted this philosophy for projects in order to provide the customer a best value products with low life cycle costs.
